The President of New School

CityWide series host Ken Fisher talks with David Van Zandt, the President of The New School. Van Zandt discusses the history and continued growth of the almost one hundred year old academic institution. The divisions now include Parsons, The New School for Design, and Mannes College, The New School for Music. 

President Van Zandt is a sociologist and attorney, and prior to leading The New School, served as dean of the Northwestern University School of Law. He is the eighth president of The New School, arriving in January 2011.
